Ben Allanof - CHAIR


   Mr. Allanoff has lived in Topanga since 2000. He works in real estate and consults for owners and managers of commercial property regarding energy efficiency and sustainability. Some time ago he received his B.A. from Duke University.


R.C. Brody

Mr. Brody is a native Los Angelino, raising his family in Topanga Canyon. 

Education

Master of Geography, University of California at Los Angeles.  Master's Thesis: Lake Level Decline, Water Resource Management, and Public Perception.  Lake Arrowhead, CA, Drought Years 1999–2003

Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, University of California at Berkeley.  Senior Thesis: Saltwater Intrusion into Los Angeles Basin Aquifers, a Case Study

He works as is a private sector consultant specializing in ecological restoration and enhancement, particularly the protection, restoration, creation, and management of riparian and wetland systems.  As a regulatory specialist he conducts jurisdictional delineations of riparian corridors and wetlands per California Coastal Commission, California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), and US Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) protocols for projects throughout Southern California.  He is a Certified Professional Wetland Scientist and one of his main interests is in the development of mitigation banking and in-lie fee programs.


William Preston Bowling


Mr. Bowling has been working in Topanga Canyon Real Estate for over a decade. Active in environmental affairs, Bowling founded the Aerospace Contamination Museum of Education ACME in hopes to ensure a proper cleanup of a Nuclear and Rocket Research Facility just a few miles north of the Topanga Creek Watershed. Thanks to his efforts, the Carl Gibbs Environmental Excellence Award was presented to ACME in 2009 by the City of Calabasas. Mr. Bowling along with Mr. Brody were instrumental in securing 25 acres of Open Space in the Fernwood area of Topanga Canyon for generations to enjoy.
